JOB DETAILS:
Purpose for the job
To ensure proper operation of reinsurance business: - Underwriting, claims, marketing, client servicing, premium collection, slip preparations, cover acceptance, binding, negotiations, and renewals.
Duties and responsibilities
• To protect insurance companies’ assets/balance sheets by providing insurance through utilizing reinsurance companies.
• To understand clients and markets, to negotiate the best possible prices and treaty capacity.
• To work together with technical partners to navigate markets, and deliver risk modeling and portfolio analysis.
• To provide advice to clients and colleagues on the scope of coverage available for different products to establish the appropriate treaty program that meets the clients' reinsurance requirements.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of placement with lead underwriters, obtain quotes and handle underwriting queries.
• Create, maintain and manage long-term business relationships with underwriters to enhance service delivery, establish new opportunities for risk placement and facilitate the settlement/payment of claims.
• Support the effective delivery of global service through network relationships where appropriate.
• Provide advice to clients and colleagues on market developments and share knowledge of market trends to enhance the overall value proposition.
• Contribute to business development initiatives.
• Analyze the market to determine organic growth, new products, and potential clients/markets.
• Proactively understand the client's changing needs and context and maintain client contact throughout the year.

• Work on complex issues where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current trends.
• Maintain standards, and develop and implement new systems/procedures which have an impact on the company’s functional and operational areas.

Knowledge and skills
• Expert reinsurance knowledge, with specific knowledge of Treaty reinsurance.
• Sound financial acumen.

• 5 years’ experience and proven track record in a busy reinsurance environment within the industry.
Academic and professional qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Diploma in Insurance - AIIK or ACII
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
