Job Description
Enda is seeking a qualified accountant to contract some of its accounting services. The contractor will support the organisation in general bookkeeping and financial report generation. The contract will be for a 6-month duration with the possibility of renewal depending on performance.

Activities:
• Review, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Monitor financial details to ensure that legal requirements are met
• Develop a business dashboard, including a cash flow management dashboard to guide decision-making.
• Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs
• Analyse market trends to maximise profits and find expansion opportunities
• Help management make financial decisions
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Preparation and filing of VAT returns, PAYE , NSSF ,NHIF, Withholding Tax, obtaining tax compliance certificates (TCC)

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, chief or senior accountant
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of IFRS
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships
• Ability to make quick but rational decisions
• Preferred skills with Shopify, Shipstation
