Hotpoint Appliances Ltd was established in 1984. Its first store was located in the Sarit Centre shopping mall in Nairobi. In late 1990s Hotpoint was awarded the Sole Distributorship Agency for LG Electronics. Later on, it went on to acquire agencies for other global brands including Ariston, Westpoint and Kenwood. 

Sales Executive

Job Title: Sales Executive

Reports to: Head of Sales

Department: Modern Trade

Job Purpose

  • Build and grow modern trade sales by ensuring existing dealers hit the revenue targets assigned by building excellent relationships at HQ level as well as on the ground at branch level. Provide excellent service to the dealers by always attending to their needs and being proactive to find solutions to any problem encountered. Grow and support the team below to ensure a positive & motivating work environment geared to growing sales and hitting targets.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets set by management for dealers assigned to you.
  • Ensure the weekly route plan is followed to ensure sufficient branch visits per week.
  • Ensure any item brought to the service center is repaired and returned to the branch/customer within 7 days of arrival.
  • Ensure all fast movers within each category are in stock (on shelf) and well displayed – if not in stock they should be on a pending LPO
  • Ensure all promotions and price changes are implemented on time.
  • Ensure new codes are listed within 2 weeks of arrival and letter.
  • Shelf share and visibility – ensure strong representation on the ground with prime displays secured.
  • Always have an updated codes list – real time updates to ensure the team on the ground are always up to date.
  • Adherence to agreed planogram for each store
  • Monitor competition and ensure market intelligence is relayed on a weekly basis.
  • Range expansion – ensure dealers have new brands and ranges to ensure we stay ahead of competition and are competitive in all segments. 
  • Manage and mentor sales representatives in the same team.
  • Foster a positive work environment within respective team.
  • Create customized solutions and strategies for each of your dealers.
  • Build a thorough database of contacts within your accounts, including but not limited to: Head office, Procurement, Category heads, Department heads, Branch managers, Supervisors, FSPs
  • Ensure that all payments are received in a timely manner for all accounts in the portfolio.
  • Provide exemplary service to all Dealers in order to ensure repeat sales through client satisfaction.
  • Ensure excellent product knowledge for entire range of Hotpoint products.
  • Continuous market visits to strengthen relationship with existing accounts and identify and bring on board new accounts.
  • Opening of accounts for all customers requesting credit.
  • Handle all requests for a given dealer within 48 hours barring exceptional circumstances.
  • Submit comprehensive weekly and monthly reports as per the requirements of Management.
  • Up to date market and competitor information.
  • Carry out all the work in a professional and ethical manner and within company policy.
  • Promptly deal with all customer complaints.
  •  Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Superior

Qualification

  • A university degree in a business related course.

Experience

  • ·Minimum of 5 years in a sales/marketing field, the candidate should have held a position that involved regular interaction with dealers.

Sales Representative

Reports to: Senior Sales Representative

Department: Modern Trade

Job Purpose

Build and grow modern trade sales by ensuring existing dealers hit the revenue targets assigned by building excellent relationships on the ground at branch level. Provide excellent service to the dealers by always attending to their needs and being proactive to find solutions to any problem encountered. Grow and support the merchandisers and branch FSP’s to ensure a positive & motivating work environment geared to growing sales and hitting targets.  

Roles and responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets set by management for dealers and or branches assigned to you.
  • Ensure the weekly route plan is followed to ensure sufficient branch visits per week.
  • Ensure any item brought to the service center is repaired and returned to the branch/customer within 7 days of arrival.
  • Ensure all fast movers within each category are in stock (on shelf) and well displayed – if not in stock they should be on a pending LPO
  • Ensure all LPO’s are processed wand all SOD’s done within 24 hours latest – follow up with warehouse to ensure deliveries are done on time.
  • Ensure all promotions and price changes are implemented on time – proof of shelf prices should be availed on the day the promotion starts.
  • Ensure all trade developers have updated codes lists any time there is a new model or price change or planogram change.
  • Shelf share and visibility – ensure strong representation on the ground with prime displays secured.
  • Monitor competition and ensure market intelligence is relayed on a weekly basis.
  • Range expansion – ensure dealers have new brands and ranges to ensure we stay ahead of competition and are competitive in all segments.
