AUCTION NOTICE

  1. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) will sell by Public Auction Casted Vehicles, Equipment and General stores through the following tenders: -

MOD/423(011083)    2022123                             23 OCC Lanet (Nakuru Region).

MOD/423(011084)   2022/23                              43 OCC (Nanyuki Region).

MOD/423(011085)     2022/23                              KNB Mtongwe (Mombasa Region)

MOD/423(011086)     2022/23                              DEFOD Kahawa (Nairobi Region).

  1. The goods will be sold on 'as - Is - where - is' basis.

  2. The vehicles/equipment and general stores can be viewed from 19 December 2022 during working days only (Monday to Friday) except on public holidays in Nairobi region (DEFOD - Kahawa, 12 Engrs - Thika, DFMH, MAB), 23 OCC - Lanet, Nanyuki region (43 OCC, 10 Engrs Bn, LAB) and Coastal Region (Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe, Manda, Diani and Klunga) starting from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm after 13urchasing the catalogue as follows:

4. Catalogues giving full details of items to be sold may be obtained on viewing days from the following offices upon payment of a non - refundable fee of Ksh 1,000.00 (One Thousand Shillings) per set at:

  1. Ulinzi house main gate along Lenana road.

  2. 23 OCC, Lanet

  3. 43 OCC, Nanyukl

  4. KNB Mtongwe

  5. DEFOD, Kahawa

5. Interested bidders will be required to pay a refundable bid number deposit of Ksh 30,000.00 (Thirty Thound Shillings) in cash payable to Ministry of Defence before the last day of viewing. Original catalogue and receipts· for both the catalogue and bid number deposits will be presented at the entrance for one to be aflowed to participate In the auction.                           Â·Â·

6. The Public Auction will be undertaken at the following sale yards on the dates indicated against each:

a.    MOD/423(011085) 2022/23  - KNB Mtongwe    10-12 Jan 23 at 10:00 am.

b.    MOD/423(011083) 2022/23 - 23 OCC Lanet    -   17-19 Jan 23 at 10:00 am.

c.    MOD/423(011084) 2022123 - 43 OCC Nanyuki-   24-26 Jan 23 at 10:00 am.

d.    MODl423(011086) 2022123 - DEFOD Kahawa - 31Jan-2Feb 23 at 10:00 am.

  1. All successful bidders will be required to pay a deposit of 25% of the bid at the fall of the hammer and the remaining balance within fourteen (14) days after the auction, failure to which the award will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited. â€¢

  2. Unsuccessful bidders will be refunded the bid number deposits on presentation of the respective original receipts.

  3. Successful bidders tender bid deposit will be credited to his/her bid price and thereafter he/she will be required to top up the difference thereof. Â·

  4. Successful bidders will be required to collect their item(s) within thirty (30) days after making full payment failure to which they will be liable to pay storage charges at a rate of 1% of bid offer per day up to a maximum of three (3) months. Items not collected within the three (3) months will be forfeited together with the monies paid against them.

  5. Successful bidders will be responsible for payment of duty, VAT and other related charges, where applicable, as established under Government regulations.

  6. The sale is subject to a Reserve Price.  

  7. Ministry of Defence reserves the right to reject any bid below the reserve price and does not bind itself to give the reasons for the rejection.

  8. Bidders who will purchase motor vehicle(s) will be required to ensure that the vehicles are painted with non­ military colour patterns (where applicable) before being put on the road.

  9. No EX - Military vehicle should be put on the road with EX - Military number plates contrary to which the vehicle will be impounded immediately.

16.  All successful bidders must get clearance from KRA before collection of the items from the sale yards.
