JOB DETAILS:
The Restaurant Hostess shall be responsible for greeting, seating and monitoring guests, making the first impression on guests and excelling in customer service. .

Responsibilities
• Greeting guests, escorting them to their table, explaining the service type and presenting menus;
• Ensuring the guest’s requirements are met should a guest or group of guests have special needs or requests, including services needed for small children, as well as for individuals with disabilities or food allergies;
• Attending to guest’s queries/complaints and coordinating activities of restaurant staff to ensure prompt and courteous service to guests is given
• Folding guests’ napkins and ensuring they are well placed on the tables;
• Establishing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and participating in a team orientated work environment;
• ensure that all reservations and any other bookings are noted;
• Ensuring entry doors are clean, free of debris and inviting;
• Ensuring that all restaurant dirty linen are taken away and clean linen delivered to the restaurant;
• Planning out the table allocation and organizing the reservations;
• Encouraging guests to complete customer service surveys; and
• Performing any other duties assigned from time to time..

Qualifications
• Certificate in Food and Beverage Service and Sales or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• KCSE grade C- (Minus) or its equivalent; and
• Two (2) years customer service / hostess experience in a hospitality environment
• Good interpersonal, customer service and problem solving skills;
• Good communication and active listening skills;
• Be a good team player; and
• Well organized, presentable and with an ability to work under pressure..
