JOB DETAILS:
Reports: Head of Clinical Services

Job Purpose
Offering, leading and planning for radiology services within the hospital.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Conducting radiology examinations on patients as per the available modalities.
• Ensuring the department is mannered at all times with the right staffing, right qualifications and right licensure at all times.
• Seeking feedback from patients about the quality of service and using the feedback to implement feedback programs within the hospital.
• Actively managing patient and staff complaints and ensuring each complaint is handled to logical conclusion.
• Carrying out on the job training and mentorship of staff in the department as well as instruction of radiology interns on external rotation within the hospital.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring SOPs, protocols and guidelines for the department.
• Working with the relevant teams to ensure equipment licences, maintenance are up to date.
• Monitoring cost and finances within the department to ensure efficiency.
• Active member of the multidisciplinary health care team and contribute to the continuing professional development programs in the hospital.
• Setting realistic business targets in the department and meeting them.

Requirements/Qualifications
• Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
• Specialist Practice License by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Valid Professional Indemnity.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Radiologist.
• Experience heading a department/Managing Team.

• Knowledge of radiation safety standards
• Knowledge of quality management systems related to radiography
