Job Description
Primary function for this position is provide patient care essential to radiographic procedures, recognizing emergency patient conditions and, if necessary, initiating lifesaving first aid.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assess patients and their clinical requirements to work out which radiographic techniques to use; .
2. Perform a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images;.
3. Take responsibility for radiation safety in your work area, including checking equipment for malfunctions and errors;.
4. Manage referrals to ensure patients receive a radiation dose as low as reasonably possible;.
5. Help in x-ray, ultra sound, CT scan and more complex radiological examinations working with doctors such as radiologists and surgeons;.
6. Provide support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs;.
7. Determine exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic technique with minimum radiation exposure to the patient;.
8. Exercise problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and judgment in the performance of medical imaging procedures; .
9. Provide patient care essential to radiographic procedures, recognizing emergency patient conditions and, if necessary, initiating lifesaving first aid; .
10. Communicate and interact therapeutically with patient populations that are increasingly diverse and experiencing generational, cultural and ethnic shifts; .
11. Keep up to date with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others .

Education + Experience
1. Diploma/Degree in Medical Imaging Sciences.
2. Registered with Society of Radiography of Kenya (SORK).
3. Computer literacy
4. Able to work with minimal supervision.
5. At least two (2) years’ work experience in a busy Hospital
