Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company Limited, a Water and Sewerage Service Provider serving Uasin Gishu County, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions:
Quality Assurance Manager: JOB REF-ELDOWAS/2017/QAM/01
Reporting To: The Head of Technical Services
Job summary: The job holder will be responsible for ensuring the company products conform to the recommended standards and overall coordination of the company laboratory activities.

Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable at Grade 10
Requirements for appointment the ideal officer should have the following minimum requirements:
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Have a minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience three (3) of which should have been in the mid-level management of a busy water laboratory
• A Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Microbiology will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in computer operations and skills.
• Have proven people management experience as well as strong communication, interpersonal negotiation and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and coordination of operations of all the company laboratories whose key mandate is to ensure the quality of water supplied to consumers and the effluent discharged to the environment conform to the relevant set standards and laws.
• Conduct research and recommend the most suitable water and wastewater treatment methods and chemicals to be used from time to time.
• Review and recommend laboratory operations, procedures, methods and equipment from time to time.
• Preparation of annual work plans and budgets for the section.
• Prepare and submit periodic laboratory reports for internal and external consumption.
• Ensure the company Laboratory maintains the ISO 17025:2005 accreditation as well as seeking for additional certifications.
• Recommend the laboratory tests the company can perform for external customers and the respective charges.
• Marketing of laboratory activities to the external customers to ensure that the laboratory becomes commercially viable.
• Preparation of the company water safety plans.
• Overall supervision of the Quality Assurance staff, ensuring that they receive adequate resources and training required to perform their work.
