Project Coordinator
Role overview
This role needs someone who is a Kenyan National and either living in or willing to relocate to Mombassa for the duration of the project (two years). The Project Coordinator provides effective project coordination support for the planning and implementation of the project including working with partner organisations and other key stakeholders to support the quality programme delivery of the project that is aligned with VSO’s Volunteering for Development framework and donor contract compliance. Effectively coordinate with partner organizations and VSO staff and volunteers, in project planning, implementation, monitoring and learning of the project with meaningful and effective partnership to ensure successful quality programme delivery in line with VSO’s volunteering for development framework and effective grant management standards Support partner organizations to understand the project aims, outcomes, outputs, and indicators. Provide peer to peer working approach with partner organizations. Coordinate for strengthening organisation capacity of partner organisations and the youth groups; capacity assessment, partner monitoring visits, partner capacity development plan and reporting in coordination with the Global Implementation Team. Contribute to and follow up on MRE and data gatherings. Contribute to high quality report generation for donors, governments and internal VSO’s scale and reach report.
Skills, qualifications and experience
• Project Design and Project Delivery Experience of a project coordination and with basic knowledge and skills of project management in development sector.
• Experience of working with young and marginalised people with understanding of youth development, youth participation and engagement in the context of rural community in Kenya.
• Understanding and valuing the role of volunteering in development.
• Engagement & Partnership Experience of partnership coordination with an ability to engage with various stakeholders, conduct partner risk assessment, effectively coordinate on project implementation, build and maintain relationship and provide capacity development supports for implementing partner organisations.
