JOB DETAILS:
Project Associate - Horn of Africa
Provide support for the mediation and dialogue processes, including
• Support the SPM and PO in coordinating the day to day administrative and logistics functions of the Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan projects;
• Help prepare the budget, develop project documentation and manage administration of consultants (travel, contracts and invoices);
• Monitor political situation in the Horn of Africa mainly South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Sudan, developments relating to the conflicts and the impact on the respective projects, as well as research and analyse subjects related to the projects;
• Manage all financial aspects of the projects including close monitoring of the expenditure, under the supervision of the SPM, Project officer and PM Sudan;
• Responsible for logistics of and coordination of meetings including flight bookings, hotel reservations, airport transfers, outside catering arrangements, communication with project partners among other logistical arrangements related to meetings.
• Closely liaising with the administrative assistant in Sudan to meet financial reporting as per HD policies.
• Support in proposal/narratives development.
• Some travel may be required.
• Any other relevant task as requested
Technical competencies needed for the position:
• Strong financial background
• Strong planning and administration experience
• Research and information analysis
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar function
Interpersonal skills needed for the position:
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• A team player

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
