Legal Resources Foundation (LRF) Trust exists as a national civil society organization to promote access to justice among vulnerable, indigent and marginalized groups, with a view to establish legal inclusivity as espoused in the Constitution of Kenya, yet responsive to Sustainable Development goal sixteen (16). Twenty-six years and counting, LRF has provided leadership on growing legal inclusivity culminating into statutory supported legal aid, democratic security governance and human rights integration in the actualization of the Bill of Rights, in particular socio-economic and cultural rights as stated at Article 43 of the Constitution. LRF seeks to fill the position of a Programs Manager to join its dynamic team of staff based in its head office in Nairobi. The Programs Manager reports to the Executive Director, while coordinating, supervising and working to mobilize resources, develop winning proposals and consultancies, with regard to strategic planning, program designing and implementation amongst others. The purpose of this position is to enhance effectiveness, outreach, compliance, efficiency and public relations of LRF. Key Responsibilities/Duties
• Coordinate programs, donor and partner reporting, compliance and liaison
• Develop innovative concepts, proposals and activities for LRF’s growth and sustainability
• Identify, plan, coordinate, allocate and review capacities and personnel between and across thematic focus areas for a clear operational strategy
• Receive, review, confirm and approve program and administrative impress applications and returns
• Organize program reviews and reflections to generate a strategic time serving implementation framework
• Carry out performance management of all program staff including supervision, training mentorship and appraisals
• Assist in development of institutional briefs, positions or proposals on national policy issues to guide LRF’s positioning and advocacy strategies
• Member of management committee
• Representing LRF’s Executive Director in high profile networks, meetings and memberships whenever assigned..


  Technical skills
• Must have and demonstrate strong project management skills, especially management of complex, multi-faceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
• Must demonstrate capacity for project diversification within the administration of justice sector
• Clear understanding and experience in personnel and financial management
• Good report writing, planning, analytical and editorial skills
• Credibility and integrity are beyond reproach
• Ability to work in a team exudes confidence and positive attitude
• Knack to quality and ability to multi task is natural
• Ability to observe and maintain confidentiality is noticeable
• Interpersonal skills such as patience, respect, tolerance, tact and flexibility speak to courtesy
• Organizational skills motivate staff confidence, creative and strategic work execution


  Key Qualifications/Requirements
Academic qualification(s)
• Master in law, social sciences, international human rights or equivalent, plus six years relevant working experience in which 2 years have been in senior management
Professional competencies
• Certificate in resource mobilization will be an added advantage
• Certificate in corporate governance will be an added advantage
