Overview
Responsibilities
Training Design, Facilitation, and Coaching (~40% of time)
• Design and deliver/facilitate training to a wide range of audiences, both Kenyan and global, after being trained in the Amani Institute curriculum and approach to leadership development.
• Assist with or lead new professional development training programs for individuals or institutions, across the social, academia, and private sectors.
• Coach and mentor program participants
• Review and improve the curricula (learning activities, teaching materials and worksheets) according to employers’ needs.
• Research and new content creation
Program Management (~40% of time)
• Efficiently manage learning programs and projects as required either as a Lead or Co-lead
• Manage the administrative aspects of the programs, i.e program on/offboarding, learning management system, salesforce,
• Communication with prospective/current program participants as well as other stakeholders
• Conduct program monitoring & evaluation, including writing reports as required
• Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients
Business Development & Networking (~20% of time)
• Attend networking events in order to represent Amani Institute and build a range of different types of strategic partnerships with other organizations
• Take part in proposal writing and other business development related activities
• Identify and follow up on Business leads
About you
Personal Requirements:
• You have a passion for creating social impact, at both at individual as well as organisational level
• You have a passion for adult development and for helping individuals achieve their full potential
• You enjoy communicating and networking with people from the most diverse geographical, social, and economic background
• You cannot just multitask, but you enjoy working on many projects at the same time
Professional Expertise:
• At least 7-10 years of previous work experience
• Undergraduate degree in any field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Proven ability to design and deliver training programs from beginning to end - from creating learning outcomes to developing methodology to running training and evaluating outcomes of such trainings
• Experience with innovation and/or adult leadership development
• Experience with group facilitation; the more diverse the groups the better
• Expertise in leading and managing in-person as well as virtual training programs
• Proven ability to coach and mentor individuals from all walks of life towards achieving their professional goals, including people who might be older and with more experience
• Ability to not just multitask, but even enjoy working on many different projects at once
Preferred Experience
(Although not required in order to apply, possessing any of these characteristics will be an advantage)
• Experience in Leadership and Management Development
• Familiarity with and strong networks in the social impact sector
• International experience outside Kenya, for work and/or study
• Proven ability to build professional relationships for networking and/or business development
