JOB DETAILS:
The American Center for International Labor Solidarity (Solidarity Center), an International NGO focused on labor and worker rights issues, is seeking candidates for the Program Assistant (PA) position. The PA works under the direct supervision of the Country Program Director (CPD) and is responsible for assisting with the implementation of all Solidarity enter programming within the East & Horn of Africa region. The PA will be based in Nairobi but must be available to travel in and around different parts of the city and on Occasion outside of Nairobi. .
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in the in the implementation of programs
• Assist in planning of project activities including correspondence with partner organizations
• Assist in preparing program reports for all activities in line with donor guidelines and in compliance with SC reporting deadlines
• Taking workshop proceedings notes
• Drafting of letters to partners
• Assist in budget preparation for training activities
• Make travel arrangements including flight and hotel bookings
• Become conversant with the Solidarity Center's and USG's regulations that govern grants and/or other agreements that fund programs that you assist to implement

Job Qualifications:
• Previous experience with an international NGO or trade union is desired.
• S/he must be capable of supporting multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and verbal skills in Kiswahili are required. Fluency in French, Arabic and/or Somali would be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy for word processing and simple Excel spread-sheets desired.
