Job Description
Are you ready to help us invent the future? We are looking for a Production Manager to be based at our Manufacturing Plant in Nairobi, Kenya. The Production Manager will oversee production activities to meet business objectives, be accountable for all aspects of production and ensure that objectives are achieved in a cost-effective, agile, and safest manner consistent with quality requirements.
The Production Manager will also delegate authority to key direct reports in the quest to direct and coordinate operations for the Manufacturing plant accordingly. The main function of this role is to ensure quality products are timely and efficiently manufactured with a key focus on achieving targeted results.

What you’ll do
• Set annual goals and objectives for all direct reports as well as manage their performance.
• Ensure effective utilization of all assets including manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Maintain highest possible efficiencies and productivity in the plant operations and continue to seek improved productivity at a measured O.E.E level of not less than 85%.
• Maintain high standards of quality for all components and finished goods and ensure that all problems are timely/proactively identified and corrected/mitigated.
• Identify and implement, group best practices and or continual improvement projects and processes- Implement/entrench Manufacturing tools/Principles/Systems eg 4DX, MES, idea driven organization, PDM, TPM, Six Sigma, Gemba Kaizen, IWS.
• Meet and exceed agreed upon KPI’s which include OEE, Scrap levels, VOC, MTTR, MTBF, LTI, Production Adherence, Maintenance Cost, Inventory levels etc.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks and update capacity planning files.
• Identify and submit Capex requirements.
• Coordinate the maintenance program for all production machinery and keep BIC up to date with latest technology and world class practices.
• Drive EHS compliance culture – strict adherence to all the outlined legal requirements/company safety procedures and regulations.
• Accurate reflection of stock on internal system and the safe keeping thereof.
• Identify, nurture and reward talent to enable people to exploit their full potential.
• Drive a culture of coaching, feedback, and accountability.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management/Engineering field
• 5 -10 years of Manufacturing experience within a FMCG manufacturing or related environment is essential. Experience within the stationary business is an added advantage.
• SHEQ or relevant Health and Safety training required.
• Very strong analytical, conceptual, interpersonal relationship skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must have strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Experience in Production & Quality Management are highly desired.
