JOB DETAILS:
Product Development Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate new product concepts in line with the product portfolio and assess viability on adoption
• Carry out research and collate data on identified market opportunities; and creating a database of the product parameters
• Track and monitor new product development projects; while maintaining data from inception to final stages
• Conduct trial analysis and sensory evaluations on product batches until product specification is attained consistently
• Document and maintain records on the development process while incorporating procedures, work instructions and manuals for reference and traceability purpose
• Presenting write ups to the Project Team for evaluation, review and approval at each processing stage
• Source for various variants for all approved product development and improvement projects as per the approved cost
• Allocations
• Assist in implementing and enforcing Food Safety and HACCP standards as per the set ISO Standards
• Any other duties not necessarily mentioned which are in line with the position of a Product Development Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum two (2) years experience in a similar role in the Manufacturing Industry – Food Sector
• Education and specialist Knowledge Required:
• Degree in Food Science or relevant qualification
• Knowledge of ISO Standards – Food Safety Systems & Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge on organic foods and exposure to Farm environment will be an added advantage
