JOB DETAILS:
Job title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description
1. Dispensing drugs as prescribed by the clinician and provide constructive criticism on the prescriptions.
2. Ordering, receiving, storage and dispensing of drugs.
3. Procuring of drugs from main store.
4. Perpetual stock taking and stock reconciliation
5. Ordering, receiving, storage and management of DDA drugs
6. Maintenance of bin cards.
7. Consultant on drug therapy to clients and other medics in the hospital.
8. Handing over after every shift.
9. Attending and participating in continous medical education programs within and outside the institution.
10. Daily checking of the emergency trolley drugs and refilling
11. Periodic review of drug administration procedures and recommendations.
12. Ensure discharge medication reach the patients promptly and that relevant education with regard to the drugs is given and that the patients understand.
13. Maintain accuracy in shift report.
14. Infection control.
15. Knowledge of drug disposal.
16. Maintains a patient’s dignity all the time.
17. Familiar with drug indication, contraindication, mode of action, interactions, dosages and administration.
18. Being alert of security measures.
19. Maintenance of clean working environment in working area.
20. Reporting of any breakages and any observance that needs attention by management.
21. Maintenance of client’s and institution’s data records as private and confidential.
22. Any other duties as per institution demands.
