SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Mentor will provide support at facility level lead planning and implementation of all aspects of Health Products and Technologies component of the program, as well as integration of the same with Reproductive Health (RH)/Family Planning (FP)/HIV Care & Treatment/TB/Nutrition/HTS/OVC (Pick all applicable and include any missing). This will include development of relevant technical strategies and innovations. The incumbent will ensure that technical assistance leads to high quality services, increased coverage and uptake of HIV care and treatment, TB/HIV services, adherence support and retention for all populations, including key and priority populations. This position will collaborate closely with other program mentors and other relevant stakeholders to lead capacity transfer strategies, achieve targets, evidence-based reporting, and sustainably strengthen the health systems for HIV/TB/PMTCT services. The position will be based at Nairobi County or Kajiado County, supported sub-counties and health facilities. The Pharmacy Mentor with repot to the Pharmacy Lead.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
The Fahari ya Jamii Pharmacy Mentor will be required to perform the following tasks;
1. Build capacity of facility staff for commodity management through mentorship in record keeping for commodities using recommended tools.
2. Support facilities to ensure that storage of commodities meets requirements.
3. Ensure accurate quantification of HIV program commodities during monthly ordering.
4. Support facility staff to make monthly orders in an accurate and timely manner.
5. Ensure that all facilities submit both FMAPs and FCDRR.
6. Build capacity of staff to report for commodities on DHIS 2.
7. Support stock redistribution and tracking of expiries.
8. Ensure appropriate documentation for stock redistribution within and between sub counties.
9. Support physical verification exercise every month for USG supported commodities.
10. Mentor facility staff on use of EMR.
11. Conduct OJT on use of Commodity Management Standard Operating Procedures for facility staff.
12. Support facilities to conduct commodity related WITS.
13. Conduct facility level data quality audits for various indicators including ensuring concordance between bin cards and physical stock, and between patient numbers in MoH 729 and MoH 731.
14. Any other duties that may be assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
• A first university degree in Pharmacy or related field from an accredited/recognized institute.
• At least five years’ related experience, in management of Health Products and Technologies.

Desired knowledge, skills, and attributes:
• Knowledge of health and development programs in Kenya.
• In-depth knowledge of Kenyan public health sector and clinical settings, including governmental and non-governmental settings.
• Commodity Management experience and ability to understand full range of issues around the other Program Health Products and Technologies including provision of ART.
• Registered member of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others, including developing and maintaining compatibility with other program staff, health care workers, county and sub-county officials, consultants, sub-awardees, program beneficiaries, other stakeholders;
• Articulate and able to communicate in a clear, professional manner with clients and staff.
• High degree of proficiency in written and spoken English communication, including presentation, training skills and report writing skills.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the social, political ethical issues surrounding HIV infections.
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision, and well-developed computer skills.
