JOB DETAILS:
Optometrist .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assessing, planning, implementing Optical intervention and evaluating patient outcomes and providing appropriate health care service.
• Detecting / diagnosing and managing of Ocular pathologies like allergies, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy etc.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results
• Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases, such as glaucoma
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses and assist in frame selections
• Provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery—for example, examining a patient’s eyes the day after surgery Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses
• Binocular vision management.
• Contact lens fitting and management.
• Low vision management.
• Appropriate referral of eye diseases.
• Gathering medical records and patient information.
• Taking ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional
• Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments.
• Assisting the ophthalmologist in basic procedures.
• Ensuring dispensing is appropriately done to customers satisfaction
• Managing complaints and adjustments raised by clients and sorting them out.

Education, Experience & Skills
• 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy Hospital.
• Degree on optometry
• Diploma in Optometry.
• BLS Certification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Wide knowledge of the health industry.
• Identifying priorities and implementing care based on individual patients’ needs and sound nursing judgment.
