Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Officer System Strengthening Safe CLICS will be:
• Ensuring Timely implementation and reporting of project activities
• Working in close collaboration with the MEAL Officer and Finance officer to monitor and report on the project progress in terms of deliverables and budget.
• Participate in the monthly and quarterly meetings with the project team and partners.
• Preparing Monthly, quarterly, and annual project report based on his /her project deliverables.
• Collaborate with the Department of Children Services (DCS) and key stakeholders to develop the National OCSEA manual, and child-friendly outreach tool.
• Hold consultative forums to get children voices in preparation for position on enactment of the Children’s Bill.
• Collaborate with the government stakeholders in the development of OCSEA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines on interagency coordination and collaboration and support capacity building of the social workforce on OCSEA.
• Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Child Protection and Advocacy Manager to advocate for increased national government funding for online child protection agencies and activation of the Victim Protection Trust Fund.
• Support communication and collaboration between government stakeholders and technology companies on matters OCSEA.
• Ensuring ChildFund policies and procedures including but not limited to: Child Fund Code of Business and Ethical Conduct Policy Statement, Child Protection policy and Standards, Cash Receipts and Payments, Expenditures & Disbursements are adhered to.
• Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks.
• Understand ChildFund Child safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with ChildFund Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Represent ChildFund Kenya in forums, meetings, seminars, and conferences related to the project and as advised by the Country Child Protection and Advocacy Manager.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Community Development, Social Work, Law, Project Management, or any related field.
• A Strong knowledge background in Online child protection and information technology case management and the child protection system in Kenya.
• At least 4 years’ experience working on a similar project in Kenya
• Demonstrated experience managing a donor funded Child Protection and Child Development project.
• Experience working with urban and peri-urban communities,
• Experience on conducting capacity building forums to social providers on OCSEA.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Good networking and advocacy skills.
• Team player.
