Occupational TherapistsRequirements for Appointment:-
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Diploma in occupational therapy from a recognized institution; and
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities:-
Assessing and formulating patient’s treatment plan;
Maintaining records and data relating to patients;
Collecting data for operational research;
Sensitizing the community on occupational therapy issues; and
Preparing periodic reports.
3 Orthopaedic TechnologistsRequirements for Appointment:-
At least a Diploma in orthopedic Technology froma recognized training institution;
Registered with National Association for Orthopedic Technologist;
A valid practicing license; and
Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and responsibilities:-
Evaluate and diagnose the presenting case and document the findings;
Formulating clients/patient’s treatment plan;
Conduct disability Assessments;
Conduct school placement assessments;
Fabricate fix and follow up of orthoses and Prosthesis;
Sensitizing the community on Orthopaedic technology services including disability awareness and mainstreaming;
Participate in ward rounds;
Conduct Orthopedic technology outreach services; and
Advocacy for persons with disability
Assistant Physiotherapist IIIRequirements for Appointment:-
Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution;
Certificate of registration from the Physiotherapy Council of kenya (PCK);
Current Certificate of practice from the Physiotherapy Council of kenya (PCK); and
Certificate in any computer application skills.
Duties and responsibilities:-
Providing physiotherapy services to inpatient and outpatients at an outpatient unit/ward/health institution;
Assessing patient needs including rehabilitation;
Verifying and maintaining information and records relating to patients;
Screening, assessing and providing therapeutic exercises,
Manual therapy,
Electrotherapy and hydrotherapy as per the patients/clients formulated treatment plan;
Collecting data for operational research;
Sensitizing the community on physiotherapy issues; and
Preparing periodic reports
