Medical Laboratory Mentors Job in Kenya

Available Positions: (5 Nairobi and 2 Kajiado)
Reporting To: County: Sub-County Medical Laboratory Coordinator (SCMLC)
Project: Laboratory Systems Strengthening Lead

Summary
Medical Laboratory Mentors will be responsible for offering technical support on Laboratory systems strengthening, and capacity building support to ensure implementation of Laboratory Continuous Quality (L-CQI) to facilities at Sub-County level.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
1. In liaison with Sub-County Medical Laboratory Coordinator (SCMLC) and HIV project teams to ensure implementation of policy guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manuals for medical laboratories at facility level.
2. Provide on-site mentorship and on-job-training to the project supported medical laboratories.
• Strengthen laboratory commodity management at facility level.
1. Provide technical support in integrated sample networking: CD4, Viral Load, and Sputum for GeneXpert.
2. Provide mentorship to Fahari ya Jamii supported laboratories to implement L–CQI, including RT-CQI.
3. Ensure implementation of laboratory quality control and assurance for laboratory testing.
• Strengthen documentation of laboratory services at facility level.
• Support facility level commodity quantification and forecasting.
1. Perform facility support supervision and mentorship in liaison with Sub-County Medical Laboratory Technologists. (SCMLT).
2. Participate in program review meetings, monitoring performance and preparation of progress reports.

Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
• Experience in Laboratory Quality Management Systems, HIV Testing, Commodity management

Skills
• Training and facilitation skills.
• Mentorship skills.
• Computer application skills.
