JOB DETAILS:
An Established modern butcher shop is looking for a responsible, polite, honest and hard-working Meat cutters (Butcher man). The meat shop IS strategically located and as It grow in footfall and network, they offer an opportunity for the best butchers to grown within the team to be team leaders.Meat Cutter is expected to know how to cut, trim, and display in an attractive manners all meat, goat and chicken carcass in an attractive manner with the customer view as the focal point always.You are expected to be well knowledgeable in the using different knives, bone saws, cleaver, and band-saw, chopping meat to cooking cuts, such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes, and grinding meat.Meat Cutter is expected to ensure that customers have very good experience while visiting the meat shops.
The Butcher shop will offer attractive and other benefits depending on experience and technical skills.
Monthly bonuses are also offered upon meeting monthly target. .
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Visit various slaughterhouses to source quality meat and negotiate best prices.
2. Receiving, measuring, inspect, store and recording the quality of the meat.
3. Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter, so they will appear attractive and catch the customers’ eyes. Cutting of the meat and managing trims to minimize waste. Also prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
4. Estimate requirements and manage timely purchases in order to maintain optimal meat stocks and other raw materials then Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, goat, poultry, and fish, to prepare meat in cooking form.
5. Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment and comply with all health, sanitation and legal regulations
6. Generate and grow a portfolio of meat orders outside the butchery for deliver to the customers/organizations. Address customer complains politely and satisfactorily
7. Train and supervise other butchers or meat cutters to ensure the core principles in the butcheries are followed like ensuring complete records are filled daily, mobile based reports submitted timely, meat displayed adequately, and being responsive to customers professionally and attracting new customers.
8. Record quantity of meat received and issued to cooks and/or keep records of meat sales.
9. Grow Gross Margins by ensuring adequate stocking, boasting sales to meet all agreed sales targets and growing Gross Profit through managing of all expenses accordingly.
