JOB DETAILS:


Nation Media Group seeks to recruit an experienced and self-motivated individual to the position of a Digital Brand Manager in the Marketing Department. The job holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of integrated digital marketing communications strategies across NMG's portfolio with the goal of connecting NMG's brands with consumers.
The incumbent will also own the day-to-day relationship with the social media community, influencers, brand champions, digital & creative agencies, and other technology partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
• Drive communication & engagement: Participate in developing brand strategies and plans for the brand's online presence to grow audiences.
• Gather and share marketing insights benchmarking industry trends and highlighting strategic business opportunities;
 

• Digital Strategy: Lead the development of digital strategies across brands, digital communication campaigns, and be accountable for delivery to drive up overall quality of digital execution and work in close collaboration with brand managers and editorial teams;
• Manage all aspects of communication plans with existing & prospect consumers including -brand websites and platforms, mobile apps, email, social media, forums and events any other digital initiatives.
• Drive automation of digital marketing for NMG
• Delivery against performance metrics for business lines, effectiveness & efficiency measures for all digital activity, develop and share daily, weekly and monthly market and digital competitor intelligence reports to inform strategic planning and content decisions.
• Provide full transparency by sharing the performance for brand and campaign activity, ensure learnings as well as performance are communicated to share best practices across the business;
 

• Full end to end agency or supplier management where digital is involved, following compliance procedures using preferred suppliers, and taking due diligence to put a robust contract & set of objectives in place;
• Liaison with other departments such as editorial and advertising/ sales and to identify consumer needs and highlight business opportunities;
• Understanding the market dynamics while developing brand game plans to enhance brand equity, consumer engagement and competitiveness.
• Participate in brainstorms and lead brand development sprints for brand ideation. Lead user research & usability tests of prototypes and pulse surveys of audiences.
• Coordinate stakeholders on campaign planning, implementation & reporting against agreed on KPIs
• Lead social media teams to compile and redirect audience issues and ensure each issue is resolved.
• Own end-to-end digital event planning, execution, and reporting.
• Ensure NMG brand experiences on the ground are seen by many using digital platforms
• Drive data led marketing agenda for NMG to ensure decision making is guided by data, customer experience improvements is informed by data and aid in development of customer journey maps across brands

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing or any other business-related degree;
• Masters in Business Administration is added advantage
• Diploma or equivalent Certification in Digital Marketing

Professional Qualifications
• Membership of a professional body is an added advantage

Experience
• Brand management skills with least 5 years' experience at a similar level, preferably in telecommunication, finance (insurance & investments) and IT enabled services;

Skills and Attributes
• Experience in social media engagement to grow brands;
• Strong in analytics and technology: Knowledge of digital analytics tools and a proven track record of successful digital campaigns;
• Exemplary execution skills with proven experience in multiple project management and implementation;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse, cross-functional teams;
• Commercial acumen with ability to spot business opportunities
• Tenacity and resolve to work in a fast-paced job;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; and,
• Exposure to digital transformation, user research, big data, and user experience interface will be an added advantage.

The Nation Media Group PLC, is an independent Media House in East and Central Africa with operations in digital, broadcast and print media. It attracts and serves unparalleled audiences in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Exciting and challenging positions have arisen in the Advertising Department. The ideal candidates will be responsible for selling innovative advertising solutions and creative projects, while providing effective customer service and ensuring value creation for our advertisers. Vacancies are available in Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa and Nairobi.
They will be reporting to the Business Solutions Manager.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:-
• Achieve set annual and monthly targets for multimedia advertising sales within schedule;
• Develop and implement plans for increasing sales volumes and market share;
• Research available business opportunities and identify new leads and new opportunities for advertising by generating and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data;
• Prospect, identify, and qualify clients for new business opportunities by providing advertising solutions and providing creative solutions and presentations that are unique to each client;
• Increase advertising opportunities for Print and Digital products translating to increased revenues;
• Maintain and grow business contacts for existing and potential clients;
• Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs;
• Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction;
• Ensure client focused selling by providing excellent customer service to existing clients to both retain and grow the accounts as well as maintaining interactions with potential new businesses and clients;
• Demonstrate value proposition to clients;
• Analyze the territory/market's potential, track sales and status reports;
• Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services;
• Work with the supervisors and Creative Team to formulate advertising solutions that will deliver clients' needs.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Attributes:-
• A Bachelor's degree in business studies or related field from a recognized university;
• At least two (2) years' experience preferably in media sales;
• Certification in digital marketing and advertising is an added advantage;
• Must be competitive, possess a positive attitude, disciplined and fast to the market and have passion to win;
• Excellent oral,written & presentation skills tailored to the client's/audience needs;
• Demonstrable strong work ethic for completing sales cycles;
• Strong negotiation skills with teamwork ability;
• Demonstrable strength in client service and continuous growth.
