JOB DETAILS:
Manager - Gender & Women's Economic Empowerment
Detailed responsibilities
Business development
• Build relationships with existing and potential clients,
• Develop and create business initiatives on financial inclusion - access, and usage, particularly for gender equality,
• Take initiatives to develop client relationships,
• Develop and submit proposals to generate business,
• Represent MSC at conferences etc. ,
• Author or co-author thematic publications to be developed from field experiences,
• Actively engage in marketing activities and participate in digital media dialogues.

Human capital development
• Conduct feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution in line with the quality control guidelines,
• Document and communicate best practices emerging from MSC's gender work, including developing knowledge products such as sectorial reports, policy briefs, and technical notes for policymakers and practitioners in the gender space,
• Assist and support the development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate,
• Share knowledge with staff and create opportunities for mentoring,
• Take ownership of self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge which add value to the organization.

Business execution
• Lead or assist with the planning and implementation of medium/large technical assistance assignments,
• Support consulting projects on women's financial inclusion and economic empowerment,
• Support coordination between different country teams on gender and provide strategic and design inputs to MSC projects to ensure that gender issues are appropriately identified and addressed,
• Manage strategic partnerships with stakeholders, especially with those working towards gender equality in the financial services sector,
• Conduct assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings of assignments where s/he is responsible,
• Builds rapport with various contact points at the client organization for successful execution of the assignments,
• Plan and execute assignments with utmost due diligence,
• Oversee and support the process of report writing and data analysis,
• Review training courses delivered, research papers prepared, the curriculum developed, and technical assistance provided to clients,
• Contribute to the development of MSC's toolkits and other publications. Requirements

Qualifications:
• MBA or Masters in Gender studies, or equivalent or other relevant professional qualifications as in line with areas of specialization.

Desired experience:
• Experience in gender-based assignments, especially in the area of gender programming, especially research, project design, implementation, management, and evaluation,
• Experience in compilation, analysis, and interpretation of gender and women economic empowerment issues and statistical data, thorough research, and preparation of top-quality analysis and reports,
• Familiarity with gender analysis tools and methodologies and formal training in gender analysis and gender planning,
• Demonstrated expertise in mainstreaming gender in projects, gender lens investment, and future work,
• Experience in working on gender with the financial sector, development banks, and the government, think tanks,
• Experience in research, consulting, and advisory services to clients, especially in Africa. Additional experience in other countries is desirable,
• Experience in writing business proposals and concept papers,
• Should have a demonstrable passion for inclusive finance.

• Ability to lead assignments and teams and work with minimal supervision,
• Ability to develop client relationships and win business,
• Strong field orientation and proven interpersonal skills,
• Leadership skills, decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, and people-management skills,
• Excellent spoken and written English,
• Proficient in word, excel, and PowerPoint
