JOB DETAILS:
Geothermal Development Company (GDC) is 100% state-owned corporation registered under the Companies Act (CAP 486) of the Laws of Kenya. It was incorporated in the year 2008 as a special purpose vehicle to accelerate the development of Geothermal Energy in Kenya under the umbrella of the Ministry of Energy (MoE). GDC is a leader in development of Green Energy.
Manager, Property Management - JOB GRADE GD3 (1 post) JOB NO. 2. REF: GDC/HRP/PROP/01/2020
Overall Purpose:-
Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services: The job holder will be responsible for all Acquisition Leasing, Management, Maintenance and Security of facilities and assets. The holder will also be responsible for transport requirements in the company. .
Key Responsibilities
i. Developing and implementing programs policies and procedures for the various functions and operations of the Property Management department.
ii. Acquisition, allocation, furnishing and administration of office space; repair and maintenance of facilities furniture and fittings
iii. Acquisition and allocation of parking space
iv. Coordinate valuation of company property and updating and managing corporate property and asset inventory
v. Overseeing the drawing of lease contracts with relevant stakeholders;
vi. Overseeing transport and fleet management services and systems.
vii. Planning and managing day to day transport requirements of the company and ensuring proper maintenance, safety and security of the motor vehicle fleet and deployed staff cars.
viii. Overseeing allocation and usage of fuel and ensuring fuel accountability
ix. Preparing vehicles for inspection and ensuring timely renewal of insurance cover for vehicles
x. Securing all company assets moveable and immovable

ii. Strong interpersonal, analytical verbal and written skills;

iv. Strong communications and presentation skills
v. Negotiation skills;
Job Specifications
i. Have not less than eleven (11) years relevant work experience two (2) years should be in a Managerial role;
ii. Be a holder of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Public/Business Administration, Land Economics, Surveying, or any other relevant equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
iii. Be a registered member in good standing with a relevant professional body;
iv. Possess leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks;
v. Proficiency in computer applications;
vi. Demonstrated competence in work through performance and results; and
vii. Fulfilled the provisions of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Terms of service
The appointment will be for a contractual period of five (5) years renewable subject to satisfactory performance and delivery of set performance targets and outcomes. GDC offers competitive salary and benefits commensurate with the standards of excellence that it expects.

5. Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau.
Evidence of ongoing clearance is admissible subject to the satisfactory results (Presentation of the requisite documents from the relevant institution before the selection process)
