This is a level 3(a) health facility registered as a Faith-Based Organization, the health facility is based at the International Vision Centre Prayer Mountain in Maili Nne in Eldoret, the hospital is a partnership with IVC Ministry Eldoret offering clinical services, reproductive healthcare, curative and preventive healthcare with a Christian touch.

Position summary
Plan, manage and supervise the activities of the hospital laboratory in accordance with established protocols. Oversee the carrying out of clinical tests and provision of accurate and timely test results.

Responsibilities
• Participate in the installation of new laboratory equipment
• Ensures together with the Clinical Officer and the Nurse that all lab equipment are calibrated in accordance with public health requirements.
• Establish and ensure adherence to personnel safety and environmental protection
• Also offer youth friendly services and encourage male participation in reproductive health care.
• Establish and ensure adherence to quality control and quality assurance Procedures
• Contribute in the development, updating and implementing of laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Manuals (job Aids)
• Ensure that there are adequate supplies of chemicals, reagents, equipment and other laboratory requirements at all times
• Ensure maintenance of lab stocks registers
• Ensure that expired or unusable chemicals and reagents are separated from active stock and disposed using appropriate procedures
• Standardize, evaluate, and modify procedures, techniques and tests used in the analysis of specimens and in medical laboratory experiments
• Enforce laboratory safety and security procedures.
