The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi (AKAN) is the only school in Kenya authorized to offer a continuum of the International Baccalaureate curriculum (IB) from Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), to Diploma Programme (DP). POSITION: Teacher Of Spanish
The role of the Teacher of Spanish will be to deliver high-quality interactive lessons that enable each student to reach their potential. The successful candidate will create a safe and exciting learning environment with high expectations and lead learning and teaching practices. He/she will develop formative and summative assessments to accurately report on the progress of students in line with the IB PYP curriculum. The teacher will ensure students recognize and use the Spanish language as a vehicle of communication, thought, reflection, and self-expression.

To be the successful candidate, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Education/Bachelor's Degree with PGDE and Spanish Language. 5 years' experience in teaching Spanish in a reputable school, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate and Certificate of good conduct.

POSITION: Pyp Homeroom Teachers
The PYP Homeroom Teacher is an informed, reflective practitioner who uses - inquiry-based learning and teaching strategies to create a positive learning environment that motivates and challenges all leamers to develop attributes of the IB Learner Profile to become Independent, life-long learners and leaders. The teacher will ensure student success and provide for the Individual learning needs of each learner. He/she will be responsible for creating an inquiry-based classroom and teaching within the IB's Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy.

Qualifications and Experience
To be the successful candidate, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Education/Bachelor's degree with PGDE.
5 years of teaching experience in an international school, PYP-focused professional development, proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural collaborative team and environment, be conversant with the use of technology as a teaching and learning tool, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate (if already working in Kenya) and Certificate of good conduct.
In addition to the above, experience with Sports Science, Performance and Visual Arts, Technology integration, Modern European languages, Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEAM) and experience In Special Education Needs will be an added advantage.
