Early Childhood Teacher

Specific Skills:

  • Communication skills: Has the ability to communicate effectively both speaking and in writing with girl mothers and other concerned staff about the progress of the children in their care.
  • Decision-making skills: Good judgment and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or difficult situations.
  • Instructional skills: Able to communicate difficult concepts to young children in a way that they can understand.
  • Interpersonal skills: Able to develop good relationships with other staff, children, and girl mothers, and empathetic to children’s emotions and parent’s needs.
  • Patience: Able to respond to overwhelming and difficult situations calmly, and to be patient with children who have difficulty expressing themselves or need lots of help in learning new skills.
  • Creativity: Able to think of new and innovative ways to engage children in learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children between 3 months and 3 years of age, either in a day care set up or a children’s home.
  • KCSE Certificate.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Development & Education (ECDE), or a Montessori/DICECE certificate in Early Childhood is preferable.
  • Experience in First Aid.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and other child protection issues.

Procurement Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Procurement Officer, the Procurement Assistant will undertake the following functions:
  • Tracking of Purchase Requisition Forms (PRFs) raised by staff, ensuring that all relevant specifications and samples are outlined and attached, and signed PRFs are filed appropriately.
  • Assisting in sourcing for quotations as per required specifications and negotiating with suppliers for competitive prices.
  • Assisting in managing supplier relationships, contacts, and pre-qualification lists.
  • Assisting in maintenance of the procurement files (hard and back-up soft copies) according to the organizational policies and procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Drafting bid analyses and uploading relevant quotations and correspondences for consideration by the procurement committee.
  • Assisting in issuance of signed Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) to relevant suppliers.
  • Assisting in following up with suppliers to ensure that goods and services are delivered as per the terms and conditions of the LPOs issued.
  • Raising cash requests for supplies to be procured on a cash basis and submitting relevant supporting documentation to finance.
  • Submitting invoices and any other relevant documentation from suppliers to the finance team for timely processing of payments.
  • Assisting in spending control and building a culture of long-term savings of procurement costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with the organizational procurement policy and guidelines.
  • Performing any other lawful duties in the scope of procurement role as may be assigned by your supervisor.

  • This is an entry level position hence no previous experience is required.
