Job Summary
The Public Health Project Officer will be responsible for coordinating disease prevention and health promotion activities in the community. Conducts disease surveillance activities and provides technical supervision to health facility staff in the areas of HIV/AIDs, WASH, nutrition, and family planning.
Qualification, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience working with NGOs is an added advantage.
- Skilled in developing relations to strengthen social support networks and using behavior change strategies to mobile community members to take ownership of healthcare needs.
- Skilled in data analysis and writing reports and Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
- Keen interest to mentor others.
- Ability to exercise considerable initiative to plan, organize and follow through to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:
- Provide logistical support for field work.
- Transcribe interviews and other consultations with key stakeholders.
- Conduct data collection and contribute to preliminary data analyses.
- Support the team leader with ad-hoc tasks as requested.
- Collaborate with the ULA Team and other key stakeholders.
- Receive and incorporate feedback from USAID, ULA Team, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- University Degree
- Experience conducting data collection; 2-5 years preferred
- Experience in note-taking interviews.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a highly-skilled and interdisciplinary team
- Self-driven with the competence to prioritize and manage a variety of activities in a timely manner to meet competing deadlines
