Advancement Office, Administrative Assistant

Scope of Responsibilities:

ISK seeks an energetic, optimistic, creative person to serve as an Administrative Assistant, providing support to the Advancement Office. He or she will develop a commitment to ISK's Mission & Vision and will be the first point of contact for visitors to the office and must represent the school in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Handle general inquiries by email, phone, and in person, with key responsibility for the daily management of the ISK Communications email account
  • Assist with managing ISK’s website content and photos
  • Maintain and update ISK’s online directory, the school’s master calendar and parent calendar
  • Ensure all Advancement Office documents are up to date and stored in folders complying with Data Protection Regulations
  • Assist in publishing ISK’s weekly newsletter The Mane - highlighting key events/activities at ISK
  • Assist in publishing The Pride- compiling articles, news pieces and photos/videos, in order to publish this quarterly newsletter
  • Conduct school tours with new/prospective families and alumni as required
  • Develop a working knowledge of the online admissions platform, Open Apply, in support of admissions
  • Create various slide show presentations/movies as required throughout the year
  • Assist with the organization of events, meetings, conferences
  • Maintain the department's filing systems, which include budgetary records, following up on office orders and payments, and Mpesa Paybill management
  • Ensure that the Advancement Office is kept clean and attractive
  • Ensure that the notice boards around campus remain attractive, informative and current
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned by the Director of Community Relations & Advancement
  • Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Communications, Public Relations or Business Administration
  • Minimum of five years relevant administrative experience (Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Admissions, working with Alumni Associations within schools, etc.)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills & organizational skills
  • Proficient IT competencies in Google docs, spreadsheets, sites, MS Word, PowerPoint, desktop publishing, database management systems, email and file sharing
  • Well versed in Social Media tools and trends
  • Proficient in the use of design software such as InDesign, PhotoShop and Canva
  • Fluent in Kiswahili

Arts Centre Supervisor

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Arts Centre Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the ISK Arts Centre, with a strong emphasis on sound, lighting, and technology. They are in charge of ensuring close and effective communication with all parties (Principals, CAD Coordinator, Creative Arts Supervisor, Arts Centre Assistant, CAD HOD, etc). This person is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and managing systems for the use of CAD related spaces, materials, resources, and the technical aspect for events

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support – lighting, sound, audiovisual as needed for school functions in and out of school in analogue and digital environments.
  • Lights, sounds, projections: set up, running, and troubleshooting as needed
  • Rehanging, focussing, patching, etc. lights
  • Working alongside teachers to look at scripts & offer advice in regard to lighting / sound for events, productions, and performances
  • Set up of equipment for classes / events / productions
  • Serve as the primary liaison and first point of contact with Operations, Functions, Advancement Office, etc. for all school and nonschool events, in particular supporting sound and light technology. This includes drama productions (set builds and strikes, etc), as well as other events such as International Day, PTO events, Advancement Office events, etc. This work will be supported in collaboration with the Arts Centre Assistant, especially for events that include the music and art departments, where the Arts Centre Assistant may take lead.
  • Be the first contact by outside groups wishing to rent part of the Arts Centre facility. Coordinate with the Advancement office to ensure correct payments are made for the facilities.
  • Develop the Arts Centre Facilities budget and manage orders for the Arts facilities (Auditorium, Black Box Theatre, etc.) in collaboration with CAD teachers.
  • Collaborating with the CAD Coordinator regarding visioning and developing the strategic technical road map for the Black Box Theatre and the Auditorium to ensure ISK has high quality equipment and facilities.
  • Support an updated inventory of technical and other equipment. Identify, follow up, maintain, repair, and replace items as needed. Support the updating and maintenance of a
  • Support successful events, and oversee protocols and procedures associated with the usage of ISK Arts Centre facilities.
  • Instruct students, where appropriate, in the operation of the technical systems.

High School Music Teaching Assistant

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Piano and sight reading proficiency for accompanying ensembles
