Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
Under the supporting supervision of the Chief, Talent Development Unit and delegated Human Resources Assistant, the intern will:
1. Provide support to the Global internship management process.
2. Maintain files, materials, information, schedules, and related data.
3. Support the induction process and check out briefings for national and international UNON/UNEP & UN Habitat interns.
4. Assist in the job opening process, evaluation, and screening of applicants in accordance with the eligibility process.
5. Assist in the coordination of the onboarding and induction process of new interns by assisting the recruitment managers with shortlisting suitable candidates, scheduling and coordinating interviews, and sending acceptance letters.
6. Manage email correspondence and preparation of contract extension and renewal documents.
7. Coordinate the exit process of interns
8. Research and prepare various statistical and qualitative reports, studies, correspondence, and background
9. Assist in processing HR data analytics and presenting reports using data visualization techniques and communicate results to and ideas to key decision makers.
10. Assist in research and development of statistical data models for data analysis.
11. Assist in coordination of mandatory learning of staff.
12. Assist in the training and certification process of staff members.
13. Participate in meetings and perform other tasks as may be required by the office.

Meets timeline for delivery of products or services to client.
Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
1. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
2. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
3. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent
4. Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office).
5. Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
6. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Preferred areas of studies:
A completed or ongoing (final year) University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or other related fields.
