JOB DETAILS:
Our client, is a large and well established international co-educational day school based in Nairobi, following the British National Curriculum (BNC). It incorporates kindergarten, preparatory school, and senior school including A-Level school. Our client is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and qualified person to the position of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager. .
The Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), main responsibilities will involve:
a) Develop and implement adequate ICT policies, and review the policies annually to ensure they remain relevant and aligned to the prevailing business and professional environment.
b) Ensure that software applications installed in every computer is standard and meets the Company's policies.
c) Ensure that all software installed in all computers have genuinely acquired licenses.
d) Develop and implement a maintenance program for software and hardware to ensure efficient operation of the equipment.
e) Efficiently manage all communication services and equipment for delivery of services at optimal levels, which includes the email system.
f) Put mechanisms in place to ensure effective monitoring on the use of ICT resources and data in the organisation.
g) Maintain the local area network for easier communication and sharing of information, with access rights enforced.
h) Ensure use of technology for control of physical access to and within the organisation and securing of portable electronic devices.
i) Develop and implement a structured electronic filing system with various user access right levels.
j) Ensure implementation of an effective back-up system for both shared and individual electronic files.
k) Develop and maintain intranet service for better internal communication and sharing of information.
I) Ensure installation of the required tools for protection of the organisation's network against unauthorized external access and viruses.
m) Develop and implement systems that will enable employees to work from home and access organisational data remotely.
n) Develop and implement guidelines on data collection and sharing in the organisation.
o) Provide technical support to the Company's social media platforms.
p) Develop effective training programs that will ensure high levels of ICT literacy in the Company.
q) Assist in the development of an integrated management information system and that all departments have automated solutions to the management of their departments' activities and processes.
r) Review and implementation of the department's information technology programs that will ensure efficient delivery of services.
s) Develop and implement ICT risk management programmes that will ensure minimisation of losses that may arise from the risks.
The Person
The individual will be hardworking, possess good work ethics, presentable, team player, with good communication, and interpersonal skills. He/she must also possess a good understanding of operational and commercial management. Knowledge and experience in the education sector will be an added advantage. High integrity, agility, ability to use discretion, attention to details, flexibility, and being a self-starter will be essential.
Requisite Qualifications
• Fully qualified CCNA or MCE or equivalent with over 10 years working experience in a similar position, or the role of an ICT officer in a large and busy environment.
• A university degree in an ICT field.
• Experience in the use and supporting of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Skills and training in soft skills such as delegation and supervision; planning and prioritising; and time management.
• Over 35 years of age.
