JOB DETAILS:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Human Resource Officer will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
The HRO takes the responsibility of employees’ health and safety at all times.

Responsibilities:
• Implementation of HR administrative functions to maintain sound industrial relations in the Company.
• Prepare employment contracts and job descriptions for new employees and update the same for existing employees as per details given by the management.
• Maintaining of personnel biodata and ensuring integrity and safety of information.
• Prepare certificate of service for all employees whose employment contracts are terminated promptly at the instruction of the HRM.
• Process transfer, promotion and confirmation letters for employees as instructed by the HRM and distribute the same to the concerned employees.
• Controlling, administering, and authorizing in co-ordination with each departmental head staff annual leaves, sick offs, maternity leaves, and appropriate leave travel allowances is paid.
• Update and maintain the personnel database, ensuring that the relevant data is captured properly and in time and regular taking of backups.
• Handling disciplinary cases likely to lead to warnings, termination, dismissal and monitoring proper sequence of warnings and other disciplinary standards within the company to ensure consistency and conformity with the Employment Act.
• Administration of Payroll and staff statutory requirements.
• Assist in following up of workmen compensation claims and documentation with the Insurance Company, Company doctor and the Ministry of Labour making sure all support documents and statements are available for speedy and expeditious settlement of the Claims.
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing the organizational health and safety management systems in conjunction with EHS Manager.
• Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures, using and improving HR existing and recommended systems and processes.
• Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expenses, vacation, and other personnel packages.
• Assist with recruitment efforts, and prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
• Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
• Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale.
• Carrying out any other activities at the instruction of the Director Cooperate services.

Requirements
Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or its equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in human resources management.
• Exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset.
• Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Extensive knowledge of HR policies and systems.
• Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office.
• Registration with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) will be an added advantage.
• Complied with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya,
