JOB DETAILS:
Our client is a well-established licensed digital company in Nairobi, Kenya. They wish to recruit a highly qualified individual for the position of Head of Corporate ICT. Candidates who are currently working in highly regulated industries especially the financial services sector and who have matured in the role are preferred.
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
DIRECT REPORTS: System Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers
JOB OVERVIEW
The Head of Corporate ICT’s key responsibility is to provide/oversee implementation of ICT infrastructure system and support services to the Company. He/she will be responsible for managing communication, workstations and servers for the Company whilst ensuring all software is licensed and up-to-date in line with business objectives. In addition, he/she will also be responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of the team. .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To liaise with the Company’s management to create a vision and development plan for ICT that supports the Company’s initiatives and priorities.
• To develop and drive enforcement of relevant ICT related policies across the company; Maintain up-to-date, accurate ICT systems & process documentation, including user guides.
• To oversee provision of all ICT infrastructure systems & support services; servers, LAN, telecommunications, remote access & desktop support and ensuring 24/7 availability & direct infrastructure support for locally hosted systems.
• To oversee procurement of ICT assets and liaise with vendors and service providers in the provision of effective and efficient ICT services.
• To ensure that the Company meets regulatory and contractual obligations relating to ICT resources, systems, services and usage, complying with legislative requirements (e.g. data protection, safeguarding and licensing requirements).
• To oversee maintenance of communication systems including email, mobile phones and website, ensuring innovative, effective and practical solutions whilst obtaining best value.
• To ensure that there is an effective and up to date disaster recovery plan for ICT services and robust backup and failover procedures.
• To oversee security of data, network access and back-up systems.
• To coordinate data management, data control and data protection across the Company.
• To continuously review ICT Infrastructure, making capacity recommendations for the improvement capacity of local ICT Systems in support of ongoing business operations & future requirements.
• To oversee the maintenance of accurate asset registers of physical and digital ICT assets.
• To be aware of staff and management requirements and provide guidance to assist users, helping them to make the most of the provision and ensuring that their ICT requirements are met.
• To oversee provision of desktop support and be a technical point of escalation for all unresolved local ICT issues.
• To manage IT staff, train, evaluate, guide and discipline them to adapt to the changing needs of users, new projects and technologies.
• Any other responsibilities assigned by the management.

PERSON PROFILE
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Professional qualifications. CISA, CCNA, Cyber Security Analyst (Web Security, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
• Must have at least 10 years’ relevant work experience, four (4) of which should be in a management position.
• Experience with setting up and managing Active Directory Services.
• Experience with authentication tools - TACACS, Squid, Radius.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments + Windows for end users including License Management.
• Experience with ticketing system e.g. Remedy, ZenDesk.
• Experience with virtualization, N-computing.
• Experience VOIP Telephony service.
• Experience in controlling information technology budget
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
