  JOB TITLE: HEAD OF MISSION KENYA/SOMALIA
LOCATION: NAIROBI, KENYA
CONTRACT: 1 Year, renewable
JOB SUMMARY
Based in Nairobi, the Head of Mission provides the overall leadership and strategic direction of SIF operations in Kenya and Somalia. He/she is responsible for:
• The overall program development and program implementation & staff management, . .Guaranteeing the respect of SIF procedures, policies and best practices,
• Representing the SIF toward local authorities, and the different stakeholders
• Identifying and securing institutional donors' funding.

MISSION AND ACTIVITIES:
Leadership of the Country Programs
To maintain and develop SIF presence in the country, coordinate and direct all operations, ensure team work, inform HQ on progress of the mission and to monitor emergency humanitarian situations in the country.
Programs Development: Develop SIF short and long term strategy, oversee field assessments, ensure compliance of operations with local laws, supervise external and internal reporting, act as budget holder of SIF programs and develop and maintain SIF activities.
Representation: to represent SIF, develop funding strategies and donor mapping, manage external communication and maintain regular communications with HQ. Internal coordination: Maintains a close liaison with the SIF support services (logistics, finance, human resources, to ensure that SIF policies and procedures are being followed at all times

  Job Qualifications: PROFILE:
• Minimum 5 years of previous experience in humanitarian work, including previous experience as country director, deputy country director or Chief of party
• Substantial experience of strategic thinking, including identifying, analyzing, problem solving and responding to opportunities and challenges.
• Extensive experience in securing substantial external funding: . Successful experience in managing multi-sector programs especially WASH,FSL.NFI, Protection and cash-based interventions.
• Extensive knowledge of project planning and budget holding: proposal & report writing,
• Knowledge and understanding of projects management tools:
• Strong leadership skills, with excellent written and spoken English; . Capacity to act with diplomacy & proven liaison and negotiation skills:
