HIV Prevention Technical Advisor for Clinical Services
Job Summary - Purpose
This position reports to the Program Director and is responsible for supervision of and capacity building of the clinical component of HWWK's HIV/AIDS Prevention Program in Nairobi, Upper and Lower Eastern, Central and Rift Valley and will work closely with the HIV Prevention Technical Advisor and other senior staff of HWWK and partner organizations to develop and manage the overall clinical strategy of the program. This position will also provide essential support to the Regional Coordinators, Program, Project and M&E Managers in supervising and follow up of the clinical aspects of the Program. It is based at the Head Office in Kiambu (Ruaka) but requires 50% travel to provide supportive supervision and to monitor and follow up on service provision in the designated counties.
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in clinical medicine with a university degree in a health related field. The candidate must have supervisory experience and have background in HIV / AIDS care and treatment and in public health. (Post graduate degree in Public Health or similar field is an added advantage as is experience in Continuous Quality Improvement).
Program Director
The Program Director is responsible for providing technical leadership for the CDC KP/PP and DREAMs Program, providing strategic management and direction, leading the project’s operational research, and devising evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements. The PD is responsible for facilitating learning and innovation that can be shared across projects and with the donor and partner organizations. The PD will work closely with National and County governments, especially the County Health Medical Teams with the aim of integrating KP program sites into county and sub-county health facilities. Additionally, the PD will provide essential support and supervision to the HIV Prevention Technical Advisor, Dreams Project Manager, M & E Manager, and HIV Clinical Services Technical Advisor.
This position is based at Head Office but requires 25% travel to provide supportive supervision and to monitor and follow up on service provision to counties in Nairobi, Upper and Lower Eastern, Central and Rift Valley.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have a Master's degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences or other related field, and have a minimum of seven (7) years progressive relevant experience in HIV/AIDS work with at least 5 years in a senior management position. A medical background is an added advantage.
