JOB DETAILS:
About the Role
The GR supervisor will support the Government Relations Department which is responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with the community gatekeepers, county and national governments including the police in our areas of operation so as to always ensure an enabling environment for a thriving business.

Duties and Responsibilities
Government engagements

• Ensure sound relationship between the company and local authorities by effectively engaging the National and County Governments at Sub County Level, NEMA and all Police Stations in our areas of operation and getting their support for our work. optimized Sales and Customer Support Processes by ensuring that the process of FLT Approvals and Installations is hassle-free.
• Prepare an attainable portfolio of all the officials engaged by the associates in their areas and balance on the time to source for approvals.
• Ensure continuous spot checks with other officials at the ward level are constantly engaged by the associates.
• Prepare the government engagement reports on a weekly/monthly basis by tracking all the developments in all areas and ensuring that the relevant departments know the government plans.

Data management
• Daily sharing of GR pipeline with the associates and ensuring that they have the right information on a daily basis.
• Manage the approvals information by ensuring all the sites approved to have the right documentation i.e land approvals documents, government approval forms, and any other documents relevant documents are verified, signed, and correctly attached in the system.
• Ensure that all the documents are up to date with the relevant information. i.e government engagement documents, spillover analysis report, GR pipeline, and other relevant documents.
• Analysing and interpreting reports to identify, evaluate and present options for decision-making for use by the Leadership Team and the Toilet Board.

Case resolution

• Work with GRAs to follow up with cases in all areas to ensure that necessary support is accorded to all the GRAs for fast-tracking on their resolution.
• Work with GRAs to liaise with internal and external stakeholders for clear case resolution.
• Manage escalated cases and issues within the stipulated SLA’s.
• Manage the GRAs PD and ensure they happen on a weekly basis
• Apply problem-solving techniques i.e 5 Whys to establish corrective and preventive measures to arising issues.
• Work with GRAs to conduct refresher training with SA on areas they are supposed to sell the FLTs.
• Continuously check ins with GRAs on AIM plans and ensure they visit, call or use any other acceptable strategy to ensure approvals/case resolutions.

Projects
• Support on-time completion of time-sensitive tasks in the company’s ongoing operations
• Support the sales and marketing teams on activities that are going on throughout the month to boost sales in our areas of operation.
• Provide guidance and support to other departments on matters pertaining to government relations within the area of operation.

People management.

• Manage the GRAs in areas highlighted
• Should manage the stakeholders internally and externally and ensure that the set targets are met.
• Should set expectations and affirm on issues to ensure that government rules and regulations are followed and add value to the business.

Qualifications
• Degree in Social Sciences related to community or social work or any relevant degree.
• Knowledge of Government Structures and County Government By-Laws
• Previous experience in leading a team.
• Proven experience in lobbying government and working with informal communities
• Having worked in compliance-related environments would be an added advantage\Evidence of having worked in the informal settlements for more than 3yrs.
• High level of attention to detail, self-motivated, and a team player
• Able to take a proactive approach to projects and work with minimal direction
• Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Trustworthy, discreet, loyal, and must maintain strict confidences
• Aptitude to respond creatively to adjustments made to assigned tasks
• 75% of the job is field based mainly in the informal settlements, liaising between different offices/ tasks
