About WGH and context:
Women in Global Health (WGH) is a global movement with the largest network of women and allies working to challenge power and privilege for gender equity in health. It is a US 501(c)(3) started in 2015, WGH has grown to include over 35,000 supporters in 90 countries and has 24 official chapters, with a strong presence in low- and middle-income countries. The global team and its network of chapters drive change by mobilizing a diverse group of emerging women health leaders, by advocating to existing global health leaders to commit to transform their own institutions, and by holding these leaders accountable.
WGH has been featured in CNN, NPR, EuroNews, the Lancet and Devex for its work and maintains a robust presence via in person and virtual events at major global health and international development forums, such as the World Health Assembly, High-Level Political Forum and UN General Assembly. WGH is unique in its approach, connecting global and national policy-making to local reality. Most recently, WGH was able to get three of our COVID 50/50: Five Asks for Gender-Responsive Global Health Security into the 73rd World Health Assembly’s COVID-19 resolution supported by 130 of 194 member states.

We are still a startup in many aspects, yet we have achieved impact on a global scale and now have sector-wide name recognition. We also have a small core team of paid staff supported by passionate volunteers. Women in Global Health (WGH) has catalyzed a global network of national chapters aiming to enable women from around the world to engage at national and global levels in policy development and leadership, particularly for women that are under represented in global health leadership, especially from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Women in Global Health is seeking a Global Advocacy & Campaigns Manager to manage WGH global campaigns, which includes planning long- and short-term projects and events from start to finish, ensuring advocacy and communications objectives are met for each engagement, preparing and managing speakers, and supporting partner engagement. .
Job Description:
Project & Event Management:
● Support Deputy Director in managing relationships with partners and event sponsors, ensuring their needs of are met and keep the executive team apprised of project development via the team project management system
● Facilitate regular weekly/bi-weekly meetings (i.e. send calendar invitations, draft agendas, organize speakers, take meeting minutes, etc.) with relevant partners
● Work with the Deputy Director and staff to develop meet grant deliverables and maintain campaigns within their budgets
● Report advocacy impact and progress on a consistent basis to WGH Executive Leadership Team
● Plan and prepare materials for relevant external events (concept notes, slides and talking points, identify and help prepare speakers)
● Maintain project calendars and regularly update with upcoming events, webinars, deadlines, etc.
Advocacy:
● Leads major advocacy projects and campaigns, events (i.e. in person events, webinars, twitter chats), community management and event-follow up e-mails
● Works as part of a team to design and develop large digital advocacy campaigns (and corresponding advocacy toolkits), and prepare chapter engagement materials
● Promulgate creative advocacy ideas and approaches to further campaign goals
● Coordinate with WGH chapters, partners, and local organizations/governments on advocacy objectives, including supporting in the creation of tailored advocacy toolkits and leading dissemination of said products
● Maintain a comprehensive understanding of WGH priority issue areas (global health, gender equality, etc.) to form compelling arguments and briefings and provide strategic counsel to chapters
Communications:
● Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content
● Occasionally writes/ghost writes blogs and other written communication
● Prepares social media and newsletter content for WGH global audiences
● Assist with media outreach activities and health sector engagement in collaboration with the leadership and communications teams
Skills Needed:
● A First Level/Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's level degree and 2 years, but we will consider all candidates and evaluate backgrounds individually

● Fluent in English required (reading, writing, and conversation). Additional proficiency in French, Spanish or another official UN language strongly preferred
● Availability to travel internationally up to 30%
● Flexibility to work non-traditional hours with an organization based in the US
Experience Desired:
● At least 3 years of relevant experience, including: Communications; Policy; Advocacy; Project management
● Prior experience managing digital events and campaigns
● Significant global advocacy experience and track record
● Strong foundation in feminisitc principles and power, privilege and intersectionality frameworks
● Significant experience and exposure to global health and international development; exposure to gender equity and health workforce issues strongly desired
Anticipated Deliverables:
● Manage planning and execution of one major campaign and several sub-campaigns; events aligned with key international forums (e.g. year-long Generation Equality Forum campaign with sub-themes, World Health Assembly, UN General Assembly)
● Regular coordination work to produce event invitations, with event-follow up emails and community outreach content
● Advocacy plans for each campaign and sub-campaign
● Stakeholder mapping and analysis for relevant campaigns
● Regular social media advocacy toolkits for campaigns and events
● Concept notes for each of the campaign component
● Measurement and Evaluation System for relevant campaigns
● Relationship building with funding and media partners
● Attend weekly core team calls and bi-weekly extended team calls
● Manage campaign stakeholder consultations and information gathering exercise with WGH Chapters
Anticipated Salary and Timeframe:
● Approximately 4,500 - 5,500 USD per month (adjustments made based on geography/cost of living)
● Benefits: not eligible for benefits; related travel and communication expenses are reimbursed
● Timeframe: 1 year, renewable, full-time (approx. 40 hours per week); 30 day trial period
● Anticipated start: mid-February
