JOB DETAILS:
Fundraising and Resource Mobilization Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work closely with BvAT management team and departmental unit leaders to develop/review a fundraising strategy and ensure its implementation.
• Develop and deliver integrated communications campaigns across PR, advertising, direct marketing, digital and social media activities to raise the profile of BvAT among various target audience including donors, development partners, farmer associations etc.
• Support program teams on gap analysis and needs identification and package concept notes and proposals for raising funds.
• Pro–actively engage with key stakeholders, including government, private sector, development partners and donors, for purposes of fundraising and resource mobilization.
• Research and identify new institutional funding sources for Excellent and our partners, regularly monitoring for opportunities, sharing with relevant team members and helping to plan approaches to them.
• Maintain an updated database of current and potential donors including their funding priorities, history, proposal documents, milestones, potential fundraising scenarios for each program, and upcoming deadlines
• Oversee grant acquisition processes as guided by BvAT and donor policies.
• Write press releases, organize press calls, respond to media inquiries.
• Undertake networking activities in order to keep up–to–date with developments in funding practices and sources.
• Support the Executive Director and programme leads to prepare for meetings with donors and participate in these meetings as appropriate.
• Manage a system for all grant contacts, information and deadlines for each grant award and new fundraising opportunity.
• Provide monthly updates to the fundraising committee regarding fundraising duties and events.
• Be responsible for BvAT’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
• Undertake any other relevant responsibility assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, International Relations, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Development Studies, Social Sciences, and Communications or a related area. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage..
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in fundraising and grant writing having raised substantial funding from a broad range of sources including corporate, local, and institutional donors.
• Proven experience of working for National and or International NGOs in the Agriculture or related sector is preferred.
• Proficiency in using windows operating system as well as Microsoft office applications (Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
