Do you want to build something from scratch, solve multiple problems while creating something for the greater good? An upcoming start-up is looking for an experienced Fintech developer with product management expertise as it's first hire. We’re a young but hungry team looking to create an exceptional product that helps Africans better manage their finances.

On our team, you lead the tech – designing, implementing functionality, architecting our system, squashing bugs, maintaining the health of our code, and continually growing as an engineer. The ideal candidate is both forward-thinking and hands-on, has a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a good co-worker. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, deploying, and continual improvement and evolution. We’re looking for someone who wants to see this project through, not just build a quick solution. .

What you’ll do:
• Lead the development and testing of system components/services, code and design reviews
• Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product
• Help translate user stories into technical solutions
• Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
• Communicate with the rest of the team constantly and effectively.

What you’ll need:
• 3+ years Fintech programming experience, especially in a seed-stage start-up setting
• Wordpress & Java experience
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others and get stuff done
• Strong sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion
• Affinity for solving problems and creating impactful features, not polishing perfect code or architecture
• Experience working in a collaborative environment
