JOB DETAILS:
• Finance and operations Intern

• Position Purpose

Support the Finance department in ensuring that financial and accounting operations are in strict compliance with IPAS AA policies and procedures and specific donor rules and regulations. Also strive to ensure efficient and accountable use of donor funds.

Summary of Responsibilities
o Assist with verification of documentation that support invoice payments, MPESA reimbursements and advance liquidations for accuracy and completeness.
o Assist with processing of Participants payments via MPESA reimbursements from time to time.
o Assist in reconciling weekly ledger accounts and donor categories on excel.
o Assist in monthly vendor reconciliations to ensure timely closure of PO’s in the system.
o Assist in passing journal entries as per IPAS policies.
o Assist in cashbook maintenance – back up update of receipts, payments and transfers.
o Support on administrative duties.
o Any other assigned duties
o A deep commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights, especially abortion and contraception access
o Professional-level fluency in English both in (speaking, reading, and writing)

Education
o A recent bachelor’s degree graduate in a business-related field.
o CPA II or Equivalent.
o Proficient in MS-Office suites.

Experience
o At least 0-1 years of experience in accounting related filed required

Preferred Qualifications
o Great Interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and contribute in a team.
o Knowledge of MS Office suite
o An active and passionate Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights advocate.
o Proactive and willing to learn.
o Strong attention to detail and organization skills

Working environment:
o Ability to travel up to 0% domestically
