JOB DETAILS:
Job Description Seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Officer. The position will report directly to the Director. The Financial Officer will be responsible for book-keeping financials, as well as reviewing and monitoring expenses, billing, and payments. The Financial Controller will also work with the director to implement and monitor financial metrics driven by departmental performance and progress against strategic goals. Must be goal-oriented, ambitious, and collaborative team member who understands and respects Faith Based Organizations culture. Highly motivated with good moral standards and honest in his/her dealings. .

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the management in overseeing the financial management of the various departments, including monthly cash flow and financial reporting, audits, cash allocations, and budget forecasting and planning;
• Ensure that billing for all client categories is compliant to SSUH standards and the standards of our insurance partners
• Monitor accounts receivable and liaise with relevant cash points to minimize payment time
• Work with the Director to assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives
• Support fundraising efforts, proposal and concept note development, budgeting
• Ensure that SSUH is fully compliant with Kenyan Tax Law
• Supporting senior management and the Director with administrative tasks as required

  REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance at minimum or Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience; (certified and CPA)
• At least 5 years of work experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership;
• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax and labour laws
• Exceptional written and oral communications skills;
• Ability to work with limited budgets and human resources without extensive structural or operational support;
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• Strong work ethic and flexibility, respectful of local norms and culture, ability to work with humility and urgency;
• High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and HR management software.
