Job Description
Location: Nairobi, Kenya - position to be filled as soon as possible
The Expansion Assistant is a key player in the group's commercial development by implementing the Group's strategy of expanding its network of Optical centers. The Expansion Assistant will work on a daily basis with the Expansion Manager for East Africa and English-speaking countries. Lapaire is expanding to new horizons very soon and we would like the successful candidate to help make this a reality!
His/her mission is divided into two parts:
Develop new points of sale from A to Z:
• Identify the perfect location for our future shops in our target cities, taking into consideration the Group's selection criteria.
• Finding the premises and negotiating the rental lease for our future points of sale
• Recruiting craftsmen and supervising the interior and exterior work of our future sales outlets (painting, tables, shelves, panels etc...)
• Buying office supplies and ensuring the installation of furniture and marketing materials (making stamps, business cards, cupboards, advertising material, internet terminal etc.).
• Guarantee the respect of the Lapaire image in our points of sale.
Participate in the induction of staff on site and monitor the launch of the commercial activity:
• Learn about our working methods and tools (CRM) on the different professions existing in our points of sale (sales and optician professions).
• Participate in the recruitment of staff for our future sales outlets in order to build a strong winning team.
• Partially provide training for the staff of our future sales outlets in order to pass on the group's working methods and tools.
• Supervising the launch of our commercial activities in order to guarantee the quality of the Lapaire service and the Lapaire brand image.
Required profile
• Higher education (at least 3 years) in Administration/Commerce, Sales and Marketing, Logistics.
• At least 1 year of professional experience ideally in a similar position (e.g. business development, expansion or sales & marketing).
• Applicants that have been involved in expansion in their respective organizations in terms of opening new branches will have an advantage.
• You are comfortable with analysis tools such as Excel/Google sheets and with IT in general.
• You are willing to travel extensively in the sub-region and are a person with hands-on experience.
