Engineering Lead / Lead Developer

Job Description
Our client (a leading Insure-tech startup in Europe) has a tech team that is at the very core of their business. The team enables scale and delivery of the smartest insurance platform there is. Our client’s focus is on building a flexible system that enables expansion across different EU markets. Further, improving the customer & partner journey by reducing manual processes via automation is a top priority. The tech team works closely with our client’s business units and their stakeholders, to ensure that their development work has the right impact on business output. As a Lead Developer, you will never be far from solving problems and writing code, yet you will have the responsibility of leading and coaching the talented backend developers. In addition to the support on daily tasks, you will ensure that they are developing their capabilities and career. On top of that, you will have the responsibility of communicating with stakeholders by explaining solutions and technical trade-offs. This role aims to bring clarity to the organization over what we do and how we do it.

Requirements
You will be required to have great skills and experience in our client’s technology stack and development methodologies which include:
Frontend
1. React
2. Typescript
Backend
1. Node
2. Typescript
3. Postgres

Other/Tools/Methodologies
1. Rest
2. GraphQL
3. API Security
4. Unit testing, integration testing, snapshot testing

Other requirements include:
1. 7+ Years of Experience
2. You are an excellent communicator, in both written and verbal communications.
3. You have a high degree of empathy and care for the people you serve. You’re someone who loves meeting new people, listening to their needs and challenges, and putting cutting-edge technology and teams together to meet those needs.
4. The technology architectures you design / lead your team to design and develop to meet needs are performant, scalable, secure and efficient – and lead to digital products end-users absolutely love.
5. You have experience in and/or enjoy creating and leading high-performance engineering teams.
6. You are results oriented with a high degree of integrity. You are a great planner. You have experience / enjoy creating engineering culture that’s big on vision; pragmatic on goals; able to plan, prioritize and phase with evolving customer needs; and a team/culture that consistently delivers or over-delivers on its promises.
