VACANCY: APPOINTMENT OF DISPUTE BOARD MEMBER

INTRODUCTION
Itare Dam is one of the flagship project identified by the Government of Kenya being executed by the Rift Valley Water Services Board (RVWSB). The project components include 57m high asphalt core Rock

• fill dam, water treatment works, bulk transfer pipelines, 13km tunnel and storage reservoir. The aim of the project is to supply water to parts of Nakuru and Kericho Counties.

APPOINTMENT OF DISPUTE BOARD MEMBER
To assist in the smooth implementation of the project, RVWSB now requires appointing a member to the Dispute Board (DB). The main function is to assist parties to avoid dispute if possible by facilitating and improving communication and encouraging the resolution of contentious issues by the parties before they become disputes or if not, to assist them to resolve disputes quickly and cost effectively without the need for arbitration.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

• Must be a registered professional Engineer with Engineer Board of Kenya.
  
• Be a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya Chapter), and preferably from the FIDIC's list of Adjudicators
  
• Must possess Extensive experience in Civil Engineering Projects, and specifically Water/Hydraulic
  
• Engineering, Dams and Tunnels.
  
• Experience with interpretation of contract documentation and sufficient legal understanding to deal with the standard forms/contract documents and interpretation thereof.
  
• Experience with the procedural rules of the Dispute Board.
  
• Experience with the resolution of construction disputes.Availability.
