JOB DETAILS:
Overall Purpose
KCDF is giving a three-month internship opportunity to a highly motivated individual for an opportunity to gain hands on experience in KCDF’s technology programme dubbed TechSoup Kenya. The individual will be under the guidance of the Communications Manager and is part of a team that enables the technology programme to actively promote its work and seek opportunities to share the programme approach. The individual will be a key contributor to the unit’s communication and marketing efforts and will support initiatives to improve KCDF’s digital reach and engage its audiences.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Social Media: Drawing upon research and internally produced content to draft and post engaging content on social media pages i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
• Website Management: Working with the website developer’s team, maintain the organization’s websites and regularly publish, edit and update content on the sites.
• Digital Analytics: Using analytics tools, maintain dashboards to improve content and engagement against key metrics across the digital communication channels.
• Email Marketing: Produce and manage weekly e-newsletters and recommend new opportunities to engage subscribers and increase reach and grow the database list.
• Administrative support: Assist in all communications assignments to keep the department running smoothly, liaising with the creative designer in creating digital content and supporting the overall communications team.

Qualifications
We are seeking an individual with at least two years of demonstrated successful work experience and a passion for digital marketing and communications. Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:
• Undergraduate or diploma education background in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or Development Studies.
• At least two years of on-the-job experience in delivering effective and innovative digital marketing and communication campaigns.
• Experience managing social media platforms in a professional capacity.
• Strong communication and writing skills; comfortable writing compelling, consistently error-free original copy for digital audiences.
• Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with ability to generate, analyze and interpret data. Experience in working with Google analytics or a similar analytics platform will be an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of email marketing principles.
• Experience managing websites using a content management system.
• Strong analytical and report writing skills as well as presentation and facilitation skills.
• Intermediate IT skills especially in web platforms.
• Self-driven and able to deliver results with minimum supervision.
• Fit within a team working environment.
• Personal commitment to continuous development and learning.
