JOB DETAILS:
A Government Agency is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and motivated Kenyan citizen to fill the following vacant position: 1. DEPUTY DIRECTOR, ELECTRICITY - GRADE 3 (1 POSITION ON CONTRACT TERMS) Reporting to the Head of Directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for inter alia developing and implementing standards, codes of practice and sub sector frameworks and guiding research in the sub sector in the country. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Making recommendations for the sub sector with a view to achieving customer satisfaction by offering improved services;
• Overseeing the review of sub sector framework applications, commercial agreements and service contracts and making recommendations as necessary:
• Managing the collection and analysis of information relating to technical and fiscal sub sector frameworks:
• Preparing strategic and operational plans and setting key performance indicators for particular activities in the department; and
• Preparing departmental budgets and ensuring effective utilization of resources through effective control.
• Undertaking of any other sub-sector related duties as may be assigned.

Job Skills: • Personal attributes such as strategic thinking, analytical skills, excellent communication and reporting skills, good managerial skills and ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a team player.

Job Qualifications:
• At least ten (10) years' work experience, five (5) of which must be in a management position:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant degree from a recognized university,
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant degree from a recognized university
• Professional qualification, membership with legally recognized professional body and in good standing:
• Demonstrated results in work performance,
• Proficiency in computer;
• Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative); and
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
