Roles for the Dental Surgeon Job

Job Summary:

•  Examine patients teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities
  
•  Able to work in a busy environment and conduct all basic dental procedures like scaling, extraction, filling, basic root canal treatment, basic crown treatment and competent with paediatric cases as well.
  
•  Formulate plan of treatment for patient’s teeth and mouth tissue.
  
•  Advise and instruct patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services.
  
•  Prescribe medications as necessary.
  
•  Carefully document all medications, diagnoses, treatments and consultations
  
•  Maintaining patients’ dental records.
  

Dental Surgeon Job Qualification

•  At least 2 (two) years’ experience in a busy dental Out-Patient clinic
  
•  Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentist Board
  
•  Valid retention certificate for 2018
  
•  Desire to continuously improve the quality of dental care provided by the department.
  
• Have capacity to multitask within strict timeliness
  
•  Good public relations and communication skills.
