JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the position
• To oversee and provide ICT Technology Infrastructure for the organization.
• To set up data management systems, monitor their implementation, and review performance of those systems.
• Contribute to organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning for information and data management systems.
• To work with appropriate project staff, to ensure that efficient, reliable and ICH-GCP Compliant Data Management Systems are in place in DNDi Data Centre

Specific Job Responsibilities
• To set up data management systems, monitor their implementation, and review performance of those systems.
• To design, set up and validate databases for research projects and prepare the necessary documentation for the same.
• To provide input into case report form development.
• To contribute to the development of information Systems related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Data Center, in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• To evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs.
• To plan, develop and implement the ICT policy.
• To schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
• To research on and install new systems.
• To guarantee the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision.
• To ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to.
• To provide secure access to the network for remote users.
• To secure data from internal and external attack.
• To offer users appropriate support and advice.
• To ensure that backup systems operate effectively.
• To participate in efforts geared towards improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations in accordance with the policies and procedures as laid down in the organization’s Quality Manual.

Reporting line
• The Data Operations Manager reports to Senior Manager Biostatistics
• Directly supervises Data Managers.
Job Requirements

Experience
• Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in which at least 4 years at Senior Officer level
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure
• Experience working in clinical research with an understanding of GCP principles.
• Experience of OpenClinica and/or Electronic Data Capture (EDC)
• Experience in training/mentoring other programmers/data managers.

Education
• Advanced post graduate degree or graduate degree with equivalent in experience to reach Master level in Computer Science / IT / ICT or related discipline.
Other Requirements
Travel up to 25%
• French language proficiency desirable
