JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities
• Overall management and coordination of the credit department in all aspects of credit processing, disbursement, and recovery.
• Grow the Sacco loan book.
• To provide effective leadership and strategies to the debt recovery staff, reduce the PAR for non-performing loans and provide high-quality services within the agreed service levels.
• Owner and in charge of PAR management.
• Instituting recovery measures for all delinquent loans and releasing available guarantee /securities.
• Timely provision and interpretation of credit reports to management and credit committee.
• Manage relations with the corporate customers in liaison with the Marketing department
• Keep the Sacco informed of emerging trends and value-adding practices in Credit
• Ensure approved loans follow due process as per company rules and regulations
• Manage credit portfolio and process i.e., ensure all loans applied are paid up and guarantor management.
• Manage loans turnaround time as per the service charter and regular revision of process through benchmarking.
• In liaison with the CEO, initiate all legal litigation regarding loans recoveries
• Works with other executives on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation programs for the credit operations, business development & Admin team
• Manage cost and expenditure of the team within the approved budget and advise initiatives for optimization or alternatives
• Partner with the Finance Manager to achieve favourable financial results with respect to sales, profitability, cash flow, systems, reporting, and controls.
• Ensure that cohesive governance and risk management policies and guidance are in place to clearly define responsibilities, processes, delegations, and decision-making powers; and fully comply with SACCO’s business, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Development of annual budget, monitor, track and report expenses on a monthly basis.
• Oversee the development, monitoring, and analyses of customer need analyses through regular interactions, customer surveys, customer complaints analyses, and sales behaviour
• Manage and develop the operational client relationships by conducting (where appropriate) operational client review meetings and day-to-day ops liaison within key workstream
• Work closely with the senior management team to create, implement, and roll-out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, and reporting systems all designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiencies within the organization
• Create effective measurement tools to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes
• Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals in relation to credit management
• Analyze financial information to recommend and develop efficiency use of resources and procedures and provide strategic recommendations and solutions to business and financial problems
Necessary Qualifications and Skills:
Qualifications:
• Bachelors’ degree in Business
• CPA (K) will be an added advantage
• Professional certification in related field will be an added advantage (CCP/CCM) or ICPAK
• 8 Years Work Experience in a Financial Institution, 5 of which must be in a similar position
Skills and Desired Qualities:
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Ability to demonstrate being able to translate business strategy into day-to-day delivery
• Strong commercial understanding and previous accountability for profit targets
• Setting and reviewing Quality performance standards
• Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders
